A complete, full optional and at the same time sporty set-up.

Alfa Romeo recently presented the special "Extreme" version for Stelvio and Giulia which is placed between the Veloce and the Quadrifoglio versions, the latter always characterized by sporty engines with top-level performance.

With "Estrema", the Arese company, in practice, has thought of a set-up dedicated to that customer "connoisseur of driving" who is looking for elegance, sportiness, technical refinement and driving dynamics.

With the Extreme set-up it is like having a Quadrifoglio to use every day.

In fact, this special version can be combined with the 280 hp 2.0 turbo-petrol engine or the 210 hp 2.2 turbo diesel, both equipped with an 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox and Q4 all-wheel drive.

Look at the photos of the

Alfa Romeo Stelvio Estrema

We tested the Stelvio "Estrema" 2.2 turbo diesel with 470 Nm of torque that ensure outstanding performance (0-100 in 6.6 seconds and 215 km / h in the absence of limits).

But apart from the performance of the engine, we appreciated the rich standard equipment with active suspension, capable of adapting "real time" to the conditions of the route together with the driving style, contributing to exceptional travel comfort without ever penalizing sporty handling and pleasure. driving.

The control system, "Alfa active Suspension", manages suspensions and shock absorbers in constant interaction with the CDC (Chassis domain control) and with the DNA driving selector, calibrating its intervention according to the selected mode.

On the "Estrema" standard versions there is

it is also the self-locking differential, perfect for guaranteeing even more stability and control in all grip conditions and for distributing torque and traction even when exiting corners and at high speeds and accelerations.

Outwardly, "Extreme" is recognized not only by the badge positioned on the sides, but also by its dark-colored livery, mirror caps, carbon fiber front trilobe, black brake calipers and alloy wheels (19 "on Giulia and 21 "on Stelvio).

Four colors: Alfa White, Alfa Red, and the metallics Blue Misano and Nero Vulcano.

In the passenger compartment, the concept of sportiness is underlined by the seats in Alcantara with red contrasting stitching and which are also combined with the leather inserts of the dashboard, steering wheel and gearbox, and by the extensive use of carbon fiber in the central tunnel and in small frills .

The set-up is completed by a Harman Kardon audio system with 14 speakers.

Less evident, certainly not least, are the numerous driver assistance systems that have the task of making every moment on board the Stelvio Estrema marked by safety, for the car and its passengers.

As standard we find the Traffic Jam Assist which in addition to Active Cruise Control also supervises lateral driving, keeping the car in the center of the lane in intense traffic conditions (Traffic Jam Assistant) or on the motorway (Highway Assist), also adjusting the speed. according to the current speed limits.

Lane Keeping Assist, on the other hand, intervenes when the vehicle is moving away from the lane without the direction indicator having been activated and warns the driver through visual and tactile signals.

Also present is the Active Blind Spot Assist which monitors rear blind spots by signaling any approaching vehicles and applying a correction on the steering to avoid collision.

L'

Active Cruise Control automatically adjusts vehicle speed to maintain a safe distance from vehicles in front.

In cooperation with the traffic sign recognition system, it allows you to adjust the set speed in relation to the limits set, for a more comfortable ride.

Finally, the Driver Attention Assist monitors the movements of the car and the duration of the journey, helping the driver to manage his level of fatigue and warns him in case of need.

During our test we were able to verify that the 210 HP of the Stelvio turbo diesel engine are absolutely sufficient to ensure the correct mix between performance and consumption for an SUV of this "size": on the highway at code speed we traveled over 15km with a liter of diesel.

Even in urban use, consumption is more than acceptable.
