The unexplained return of octopuses to Brittany

2022-07-01T16:57:31.690Z

With a very rapid growth, and a lifespan of about one year, the animal is very sensitive to environmental conditions, and its numbers always vary very strongly from one year to another.

In the summer of 2021, the fishermen of the Glénan archipelago, in the south of Brittany, had a funny surprise.

Instead of the lobsters and crabs they were looking for, they only brought up octopuses in their traps.

Octopus vulgaris
