At least five dead and ten injured.
Part of a glacier collapsed this Sunday in the Italian Alps, along the usual route to reach the summit.
According to the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, the incident took place on the Marmolada glacier, in the Trentino region, located in the northeast of the country.
All mountain rescue stations in the area have been activated and at least five helicopters and dog units are traveling to the area to check for survivors.
On Saturday, the glacier had reached a temperature record, with around 10 degrees at the top.
Research is still underway to verify the presence of other people who may have been swept away by the ice blocks.
On social networks, several videos seem to show the collapse of the glacier.
