More and more people can get used to the idea of buying an electric car - according to a survey, interest has skyrocketed.
Stuttgart – The number of electric cars on German roads is growing – but many people still have reservations about e-mobility.
For some, the range of the Stromer appears to be too small - although this is often underestimated even by e-car drivers.
And charging is still fraught with problems, for example there are not enough charging stations along the freeways in particular and, according to a study, every tenth charging station is not working properly.
Nevertheless, a survey now shows that interest in electric cars has skyrocketed.

Electric cars: According to the survey, interest in buying has skyrocketed
According to a study by the management consultancy EY, the proportion of new car buyers who want to buy an electric car (the survey also includes plug-in hybrids) will be 35 percent in 2022.
A significant increase compared to 2020: At that time, just seven percent intended to buy an electrified vehicle.
As a result, interest has increased fivefold.
According to the information, Germans are even more interested in e-cars than the global average (30 percent).

Electric cars: Interest in China is still significantly greater than in Germany
Nevertheless, the electric vehicles are still behind the combustion engines: 28 percent of those surveyed would like to buy a gasoline engine, 16 percent a diesel.
However, it is still uncertain whether enthusiasm for electric cars will continue to grow.
Because the electricity prices are climbing rapidly and the opportunities to charge for free are dwindling.
The subsidy for wall boxes has expired and the e-car subsidy may also be threatened with extinction.
According to the EY survey, combustion engines are also more popular than electric cars in France and Great Britain.
The situation is different in China: according to the study, every second person (51 percent) is planning to buy a purely electric car or plug-in hybrid.
