It is called Opel Astra Sports Tourer and is the first electrified station wagon of the German house.
With the arrival of the Astra 5-door still fresh on the market, it is now time for the debut of the long 'sister', which will also be available in two plug-in hybrid versions and aims to continue the Opel tradition of compact station wagons. started about 60 years ago with the Kadett Caravan, the first vehicle of this type from a German brand.
Not only 'on tap', however, are the declinations of the new 'family' by Opel, which will be available with petrol and diesel engines, with powers of 81 kW (110 hp), 96 kW (130 hp) and 133 kW (180 hp. ) and later with 165 kW (225 hp) of system power in the plug-in hybrid versions.
Later, a battery electric version will complete the engine range in 2023.

Opel Astra Sports Tourer, the wagon between design and comfort
In its Sports Tourer version, Astra focuses on load capacity and in particular on the flexibility guaranteed by the 'Intelli-Space' moving floor.
The measures respond to numbers such as 4,642 in length, 1,860 in width and 1,480 mm in height, as well as a height of the loading sill of about 600 mm, all designed in function of obtaining efficient architectures, already the pride of the German house.
Despite the significantly longer wheelbase (+ 70 mm) than the previous model, and 57 mm higher than the new Opel Astra 5-door, the new Opel Astra Sports Tourer is 60 mm shorter than the model it replaces. thanks to a reduced front overhang.
The trunk offers a volume of approximately 600 liters with the rear seats in place, and reaches 1,634 with the rear seats folded down.
When the separately folding rear seats (standard in 40:20:40 configuration) are folded down, the load floor is also completely flat.
The load volume is respectable, even for the plug-in hybrid versions with batteries positioned under the floor (516 l and 1,553 l).
And if you want to load even more easily, as an option there is the Intelli-Space system, thanks to which the mobile loading surface can be easily moved with one hand from the high to the low position, or placed at an angle of 45 degrees.
Also available as an option with two-tone bodywork and like its 'short' sister, the new Astra Sports Tourer is also renewed inside the passenger compartment, under the banner of 'detox'.
The Pure Panel is fully digital for an intuitive experience and even passengers can use the extra large touch screen like a smartphone.
However, basic systems, such as air conditioning, can still be controlled with physical switches and buttons.
The new generation of multimedia infotainment and connectivity systems can be wirelessly connected to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto via compatible smartphones.
At the wheel, the assistance systems are state-of-the-art, from the Intelli-HUD head-up display to the Intelli-Drive system.
Prices for the new Atra Sports Tourer in Italy start at € 25,900.
