Delays, diversions, train and bus stop cancellations - you should be prepared for this when you are traveling by train near Stuttgart.

After an overhead line damage on Saturday, local and long-distance traffic at Stuttgart Central Station is still affected.

Repairs and a defective signal box are currently holding up operations.

A railway spokesman announced that the restriction would probably remain the entire Sunday.

The first S-Bahn trains are now back to normal operation.

The ICE trains with a stop in Stuttgart between Munich, Cologne and Hamburg as well as Munich, Frankfurt and Berlin also run regularly.

But there are still problems on some routes, as the railway announced in the morning.

According to Bahn, long-distance EC and IC trains between Mannheim, Heidelberg, Karlsruhe and Ulm are affected.

These trains will not stop in Stuttgart as planned, but will be diverted.

ICE and IC connections to and from Northern Germany also start or end in Mannheim or Heidelberg instead of in Stuttgart.

The ICE and TGV connection between Stuttgart and Paris are also affected.

The consequences of the damage to the overhead line have been leading to significant impairments since Saturday.

In the meantime, all local and long-distance traffic at Stuttgart Central Station came to a standstill.

The reason for the damage is still unclear.

Not as unpunctual as it has been for twelve years

It was not until Friday that the railways announced that the punctuality of the trains was continuing to decline.

Only 58 percent of long-distance trains reach their destination on time.

In regional transport it was 88.5 percent.

Both are the weakest monthly values since the end of 2010. According to Deutsche Bahn, the reasons are the high number of construction sites throughout the rail network and a lot of train traffic.

In addition, the large rush caused by the 9-euro ticket means that regional trains often cannot depart on time.

With the promotional ticket, passengers can use local public transport throughout Germany for a month.

The campaign started in June.

The ticket is also available for July and August.

In May, 98.3 percent of regional trains reached their destination on time.
