A group of Alfa Romeo importers to Israel launched the Alfa Romeo Tonale this morning.
With the Tonala, Alfa Romeo enters the hot market of C-SUV Jeeps armed with an exterior design very identified with the brand, and rich instrumentation.
Alpha aims with the Tonala to compete with the premium Jeeps of competitors from Germany and Sweden.
The tonala that our first driving official in which you can read here, shares a platform with the Jeep Compass, but has received comprehensive dynamic treatment in the brake calibration, suspension angles, wheelbase and brakes to produce the differentiation and road behavior expected from an Alfa Romeo vehicle.
It will be marketed with a 1.5-liter turbo gasoline engine and a number of trim levels, with a very powerful plug-in hybrid version joining in the future.
The turbocharged petrol engines have 130 hp at sprint and speciale trim levels, and 160 hp at ti and veloce trim levels.
The engines deliver the same torque of 24.5 kg already at 1500 rpm.
The gearbox is a dual-clutch robotic, and front-wheel drive.
At all trim levels, Alpha has incorporated a mild hybrid system that aids in parking speeds and high-speed surfing.
The lightweight system provides 20 hp and 5.6 kg.

The Tonala is also well-equipped in the area of safety, with automatic braking, lane departure correction, adaptive cruise control and more.
Proper safety equipment rating - 7. Even in the EuroNcap crash tests, the Tonale received the maximum score of five safety stars.
Tonale will currently be marketed in four trim levels:
the Spint will cost from NIS 229,000, the Speciale will cost NIS 249,900, the Ti that comes with the 160 hp engine will cost NIS 269,000, and the most expensive Veloce will cost NIS 289,000. Pricing has not yet been received. To the very interesting PHEV.

Several dozen Speciale models are currently available in Israel, with the other models expected to be received in September-October this year.
Overall this is a welcome addition to the luxury Jeep segment, which has already become static with a second generation for some competitors or models starting to show the signs of age. Its prices are attractive compared to competitors, but it will also have to deal with power inferiority to some
. In a model that could introduce the Alfa Romeo brand to new audiences, ones that to date Alpha has not been their priority.
