Small, urban, electric and with a target price of about 20 thousand euros, these are Hyundai's plans for the electric car that will replace the i10 and its sister Kia Picanto.
The head of Hyundai's European marketing department confirmed that the new model will be part of the expansion of the manufacturer's offering that will include 11 additional vehicles that will be presented by 2030.
In light of the very problematic challenge posed by the development of a small and cheap electric car from the ground up, it is not certain that Hyundai will choose to go all the way and present a dedicated car , and it is very possible that we will see a conversion of an existing car to electric drive just like Dacia did with the Spring based on the Renault Kwid.
City cars are not supposed to have an exceptional driving range and therefore can use relatively small batteries, but even then, their price will not be low and a lot of compromises are required in the area of weight (or in other words - noise insulation).

A possibility that was brought up was to use a model called Casper - a kind of mini crossover that is currently marketed in South Korea and shows a resemblance to the Suzuki Ignis or the Toyota Aygo X, a combination of small dimensions and an elevated performance.
But it is possible that using the Hono platform is also considered.
As mentioned, the target price of the car will be about 20,000 euros, that is, higher than the price of today's i10 and closer to the price of an equipped Volkswagen Polo or Toyota Yaris, so in an approximate translation into shekels, we may be looking at about 130,000 shekels.
A price that is in the segment of another electric city car already marketed here - the Fiat 500E.
But it's not only her, in Copra the engines are already warming up for the Herval, Volkswagen will have the ID Life and Skoda is also targeting a competitor
