UFO photographed from the International Space Station (UFO Sightings Daily)

A high-quality reproduction of what is considered the "best UFO photo of all time" was released this month, 50 years after it was first taken. On September 4, 1971, field photographer Sergio Luisa used a camera designed to create maps while flying over Costa Rica on a mission to study the area before carrying out a hydroelectric project near Arenal Volcano in the northern part of the country. Flying at an altitude of 10,000 feet, Louia took several high-quality black-and-white pictures, with a 20-second gap between each picture. In one of the pictures, taken at 8:25 a.m., we can clearly see A metallic disc, which looks like a "typical alien aircraft".

The object is only seen in frame number 300 in the series of images, and there is no further sign of it in the previous or subsequent images in the sequence. No one, including the pilot and the three crew members, saw the disc during the flight and it is believed that it was 120 to 220 feet above the ground.

Years of refutation attempts were unsuccessful (photo: screenshot, Instituto Geográfico Nacional de Costa Rica)

Despite many attempts and analyses, the picture has never been deciphered and explained.

The nature of the unusual object has been the subject of heated debate over the years: some say it's a hoax, some think it's just an optical illusion - and of course, others say it's an alien flying saucer.

A handful of researchers who have examined the photograph over the years, published reports about it in 1989 and 1990, and concluded that the photograph does not contain "evidence of optical defects, deliberate hoaxing, or support for other prosaic explanations."

However, not everyone was convinced.

One of the popular theories, according to which it is a reflection from the lake or from the window of the plane, was disproved due to a number of attempts to reproduce it as his own.

"This is one of the clearest proofs that aliens are real," says Oscar Sierra, an alien researcher from Costa Rica.

Now, more than 50 years after it was taken, a new group of researchers from UAPMedia UK have managed to print an extremely high-quality image of the original file.

A statement from the team said Richard Haynes and Jacques Vallee, the two who posted the original photo, had been asked not to talk about it by Luisa's employers, the National Geographic Institute of Costa Rica.

Over the years, the amazing photo was forgotten, but it returned to the public consciousness in April 2021 by an article in the New Yorker with the title: "Why has the Pentagon begun to take aliens seriously?".

The New York Times journalist Leslie Keen defined the photo as "the best alien photo ever taken" and said: "You see that it's a disk and you see the sun reflected around it and there's a dot at the top and the most important thing is that it's a government photo. It was owned by the government of Costa Rica so you know it's In an authentic picture and that is completely inexplicable."

B "This is a really intriguing photograph, which completely captures the imagination. I am always impressed by how 'true' it looks. As for its authenticity, however, I cannot confirm it, but I would very much like it to be real. It certainly looks much more convincing than most Other images I've seen over the years," Grimmie Randall, author of UFOs Before Roswell and the Flying Spacecraft Madness, told UAPMedia UK.

"Historic photos like this one from Costa Rica can still tell us a story, and new insights are sometimes just around the corner. If we continue our civil search for answers, we'll get closer to the truth than if we just wait for more confirmation from our governments," added Jeremy Korbel, Documentary filmmaker and UFO researcher. "I am delighted that higher quality images continue to emerge, especially when it allows us to get a glimpse into the past of the UFOs that have visited us."
