The blue and white parking disc belongs in every car.

However, anyone who exceeds the permitted parking time must expect a fine.

Finding a parking space can be very frustrating at times.

Either nothing is free or the only parking space is right next to a parking ticket machine.

But sometimes you are lucky as a driver and find a free parking space for which a parking disc is sufficient.

But even here it can be expensive if you are not careful.

A potential source of error lurks when setting the parking disc, because it must show the correct time.

This is the next half hour after arrival.

If the car is parked at 4:25 p.m., the parking disc must be set to 4:30 p.m. Any other information can lead to a warning.

If the correct time is set, the parking disc must be placed in such a way that it is clearly visible from the outside.

If the parking disc is set incorrectly, there is a warning fine.

However, the specified parking time should be observed.

Because the time on the parking disc cannot simply be changed after it has expired.

If you park longer than allowed, you risk a fine.

If you overstay up to 30 minutes, you have to pay 20 euros.

The fine increases with each additional hour:

  • Up to an hour longer: 25 euros

  • Up to two hours longer: 30 euros

  • Up to three hours longer: 35 euros

  • More than three hours longer: 40 euros

If you want to park longer, you have to leave the parking space and drive around the block, for example.

If the parking space is still free, the parking time can be continued.

However, simply driving back and forth is not enough to be allowed to stay in the parking lot.

However, there is another source of error and that is the parking disc itself.

The road traffic regulations clearly regulate what this should look like.

The parking disc must be eleven centimeters wide and 15 centimeters high.

The blue and white color scheme is also mandatory.

Colorful parking discs are still prohibited despite a corresponding petition.

If the parking disc does not meet the requirements, this will result in a fine of 20 euros.

However, a digital parking disc is ok if it has type approval.

In addition, with the help of an electronic motion detector, it must automatically adjust itself to the start of the parking time when the engine is switched off.

However, the time must not run along.

The blue and white Parking traffic sign 314 must also be shown on the front and "Arrival time" is written above the display.

A figure height of at least two centimeters is required for the 24-hour time indication.
