In this spring of 1975, a strange carousel takes place in the chic district of Mayfair, in London.
Three times a week, 48 Upper Grosvenor Street opens its doors to the public.
It is a private home, but the address is mythical.
Formerly nicknamed “Number one, London”, this house was a must for the jet set of the 1940s. The mistress of the place still lives there.
There she is, welcoming visitors, flanked by her two black poodles.
At 63, impeccable tailor and bun, the Duchess of Argyll now receives strangers, to maintain her lifestyle.
Admission is payable, 7.50 pounds sterling, glass of champagne offered.
A sparkling wine, in fact.
