In the wake of the more than positive effect of the launch of the C-suv Tonale, Alfa Romeo confirms the will of the brand led by Jean-Philippe Imparato to strengthen its global presence, not only from a commercial point of view, but also from the point of view of 'image.
This should include the presentation, in the form of a concept, of a new sports car that the Biscione brand will unveil at the beginning of next year.
It was precisely the CEO of Alfa Romeo who anticipated this first fruit during a meeting with the British press, reported by the Autocar magazine.
Speaking of new sports models, highly anticipated by the vast world of Alfa enthusiasts, he said: "You will see something in this area in the first half of 2023".
And to reiterate the importance of this market segment, he underlined: "We use a word to define our brand and this is sportiness".
Asked if he could remember the T33 Stradale, Imparato said: "I can confirm, but I can't say more. We have so many great ideas based on our iconic history."
The CEO of Alfa Romeo - in the interview - also cited the Spider Duetto as "another model that I would like to see reflected in an upcoming sports model".
This future sports car could also be electric, in line with Alfa Romeo's plans to have a fully battery-powered range starting in 2025.
But Imparato has hinted that a new sports car could arrive much sooner and could even have a combustion engine. .
"For the moment I have two scenarios: full ICE or full EV" he said.
During the meeting with the British press, Imparato also confirmed that a large electric sedan will arrive in 2027, which will have a specific focus on the markets of the United States and China, but which will also be sold in continental Europe and the United Kingdom.
