An explosion sounded this Wednesday afternoon in a factory in Bergerac (Dordogne) classified Seveso, causing "several injuries", according to the mayor of the city, Jonathan Prioleaud.
According to France bleu, a fire also broke out in this factory, classified Seveso high threshold and based on the Eurenco site, specializing in the manufacture of nitrocellulose, used in the composition of powders and explosives.
It employs around 80 people according to the regional news site.
Emergency services are on site and the town hall is asking residents to avoid the area.

"We heard two dull bangs, including one that made the windows vibrate," said Parisian Manon, 28, living right next to the factory.
“For the moment we do not see any smoke”.
