The environmental sticker has been mandatory in the environmental zones since 2007, and anyone who drives without one risks a fine.
This also applies to electric cars.
The environmental badge has become an integral part of the streetscape.
Almost every vehicle now has a green, red or yellow sticker on the windshield.
You can't do without it anymore, at least if you drive regularly into an environmental zone.
This is what the "Ordinance on the labeling of motor vehicles with a low contribution to pollution", which has been in force since 2007, wants.
This distinguishes between four groups of pollutants, three of which must be visibly displayed on the windscreen in the form of environmental stickers.

With the exception of Neu-Ulm - here the yellow sticker is also sufficient - entry into the 65 environmental zones is only possible with the green sticker with the number 4.
This stands for pollutant group 4, which includes almost all cars with petrol engines with regulated catalytic converters, some diesels with particle filters, and vehicles with natural or liquid gas drives.
The emission key numbers, as reported by

, are decisive.

"Motor vehicles with a drive without a combustion engine (e.g. electric motor, fuel cell vehicles) are assigned to pollutant group 4," says the 35th ordinance for the implementation of the Federal Immission Control Act.
This means that not only cars with combustion engines, but also electric cars need an environmental sticker.
Environmental badges are also mandatory for electric cars – license plates must be on them
If you drive into an environmental zone without the appropriate environmental sticker, you face a hefty fine of 100 euros.
A point in the register of traffic offenders in Flensburg.
In comparison, a new sticker costs between five and 20 euros from traffic monitoring organizations, cities and municipalities and workshops.
The environmental badge is also available online.
If you buy a new car, you usually get it for free.
However, it is important that the number plate must always be on the sticker, otherwise a fine of 100 euros will be due.
