Fires in Brittany burned more than 300 hectares of vegetation in Finistère and Morbihan on Saturday and Sunday, AFP learned from the prefectures of the two departments.
In Finistère, fires in the Arrée mountains, already affected in July by major fires, burned nearly 250 hectares of vegetation.
In the Brasparts sector, "
the fire is fixed but not under control
", indicated the Finistère prefecture in a press release, with 225 hectares which have already burned.
More than 200 firefighters are present on site, according to the same source.

In the Brennilis sector, the fire is fixed, with 15 hectares burned and 40 firefighters on site.
Firefighters from other departments came as reinforcements, particularly from Ille-et-Vilaine, Côtes d'Armor, Calvados, Mayenne and Orne.

Many farmers are also present on site and lend their support to the firefighters for the construction of firewalls and the treatment of the edges with the slurry tankers
”, added the prefecture.
The fires, usually rare in Brittany, had already destroyed in July more than 1700 ha of moors, fir forests and hardwoods on the Monts d'Arrée, a remarkable natural site.

In the department of Morbihan, the fires ravaged 75 hectares of vegetation on Saturday and during the night from Saturday to Sunday.
“
A fire in Meucon started last night and it is now fixed, the last fires in Locoal-Mendon and Erdeven in Morbihan were brought under control overnight
,” the Morbihan prefecture told AFP on Sunday morning.
On Saturday, around fifteen municipalities in Morbihan had been affected by fires in natural areas "
whose spread was facilitated by the severe drought and the rotating winds
", according to the same source.
In Erdeven, a coastal town located not far from the Quiberon peninsula, 25 hectares burned and around thirty houses, a castle including lodgings and a campsite were evacuated, i.e. around 300 people taken in charge by the town hall of 'Erdeven and that of Belz.
No injuries are to be deplored and no house was attacked by the flames.
