Powered by two electric motors of 200 HP each, one mounted at the rear and the other at the front and transmits the motion to the front ones, the I-Pace is powered by the lithium-ion batteries mounted under the passenger compartment floor. and that promise a range of 480 km, in optimal driving conditions, which we did not struggle to experience during our test.
Recharging is done by connecting the supplied cable to the connection in the left front fender: from a 7 kW 220 V socket, 13 hours are needed for a complete regeneration.
At a 100 kW fast charging point, the battery has already reached 80% efficiency in 40 minutes.
At the wheel, the I-Pace is a mix between the readiness of the engine and that of the steering that make it pleasantly responsive.
