The Schwaben-Nord police posted a picture of a helicopter on a supercharger on social media. It wasn't really real though.

It wasn't really real though.

Electric cars are becoming increasingly popular and could already have a market share of around 80 percent by 2035.

The demand for charging stations to recharge the batteries is also increasing accordingly.

But these are often blocked by other drivers - sometimes even deliberately.

The Schwaben-Nord police have therefore drawn attention to the subject in a special post on social media.

The Schwaben-Nord police posted a picture of one of their helicopters apparently charging one of Tesla's superchargers on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter on Tuesday.

As is well known, some of these can now also be used for third-party brands.

The reason for the post was a state-wide day of action in Bavaria against blocked charging stations.

The Schwaben-Nord police also wrote in the picture on Twitter: “Parked charging stations – a nuisance for those who need them.

Therefore, only park in the designated parking spaces if you want to charge your vehicle and then make room.

Luckily, our helicopter had several free charging stations available.”

However, the police helicopter is not an electric heli, let alone a hybrid model, as some Twitter users jokingly wrote.

In fact, it is a photo montage, as the Swabian North police themselves admit in the comments under the Facebook post.

On Facebook and Instagram, the Schwaben-Nord police also point out that illegally parked vehicles can be towed away after an inspection by the officers.

"According to the catalog of fines, violations lead to warnings of between 10 and 55 euros.

Depending on which traffic sign was violated.” In the future, however, Tesla would like to slow down illegal parkers beforehand.

In the meantime, the Photoshop campaign has been very well received on social media and has garnered the attention the police were hoping for.

The majority of users on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter reacted with a lot of humor:

  • “How cool do you want to make your info posts?

    PP-SWN: Yes!”

  • "I'm curious when the first one will call you and say: A Hubi is blocking an e-charging station.

    Can you tow it?”

  • "How awesome is that?!"

  • "Soup!

    Finally flying electrically!”

  • "Deceptively real, but it's a little small.

A heli is a bit higher than a charging station after all.”

  • "Very nice action!

But this way, the helicopter occupies 2 charging stations!”
