The trailer for the movie "Jerry Maguire" (Sony pictures)
We remember him as the sweet 6-year-old who starred on the big screen alongside Tom Cruise and Renee Zellwegert in the Oscar-nominated film Jerry Maguire — as well as in the films Stewart Little and Doctor Dolittle.
The Jewish actor Jonathan Lipnicki is already 31 years old and he is definitely not the innocent boy with spikes in his hair and glasses who captured our hearts in the 90s.
The boy grew up, got fit and became an MMA fighter who teaches himself martial arts.
In fact, Lipnicki began training in martial arts as a child, after a fighter he met promised to teach him how to box.
After 14 years of training, he received his black belt in jiu-jitsu in 2020. It turns out that it all runs in the family, as his father owned a martial arts promotion company, or as Lipenki himself described it in an interview with ESPN: "It's kind of family business".
In the same interview he also said that he became a coach and that he is now coaching one of his best friends.
This is how we remember him:

Last year, he put his fighting skills to good use by escorting Orthodox Jews to synagogue, following anti-Semitic attacks that occurred across the US. After an incident outside a restaurant in Los Angeles, in which a group of Jewish men were attacked, Lipnicki and his friend, Rami Franklin, formed security groups outside my home. The Knesset to make sure that worshipers can reach them and from them return home safely.

He told TMZ: "There have been a lot of anti-Semitic hate crimes and violence against Jews. He (Rami) started this group to make sure people get home and to the synagogue safely. Many of us are martial artists or martial arts gym owners and not all of us are Jewish. These are just People who want to help other people. Everyone should have the right to pray without being discriminated against."

He added: "Thugs of any kind or people who promote hate don't like having a presence there and I think our presence is a huge deterrent."
In his spare time Lipnicki still uses his acting skills, having starred in a series of short films.
He has also appeared in reality shows such as "Dating" and "America's Worst Cooks".
