With approximately 50,000 hectares (ha) burned since the start of the year, forest fires have disrupted the daily lives of many French people, particularly in the south-west of the country.
In Gironde, where new fires have already ravaged 6,800 ha since Tuesday evening, the municipalities of Hostens, Saint-Magne and even Belin-Béliet have thus been evacuated, and 10,000 people have had to leave their homes in the region since fire starts.
Heavy and sometimes traumatic operations for those who suffer them, which mobilize firefighters, gendarmes and associations such as civil protection or the Red Cross.
