Ariel Zilber and the Cypress Band will reunite for another performance - this was announced this morning (Sunday).

Zilber and the band, who together created one of the masterpiece albums of the 70s, will appear on October 13 at Ariel Sharon Park, in addition to the already announced performance that will be held the day before as part of the Tamar Festival.

The price of the tickets, which can be purchased on the website of the toMix company that produces the show, will be NIS 225.

The Cypress Band, which includes guitarist Shmulik Budgov, drummer Ikki Levy, violinist Tony Brewer and bassist Yossi Menachem, was formed in the late 1970s as Ariel Zilber's backing band.

Together they recorded Zilber's second album, simply called "Ariel Zilber and the Cypress Band", and included songs such as "Shemesh Shemesh", "Give me strength", a revised version of Tammuz's song "Quiet Love", "I used to be a small child" and also a song The theme of the thriller "Funny Israelis".

After the end of the recordings, the band continued to be very active as a backing band until the mid-1980s, and recorded with, among others, Shlomo Artzi, Zvika Pick, Yigal Beshen, Margalit Tsenani, Yishai Levi, Zohar Argov, Ofra Haza, Miri Aloni, Avner Gadsi, Haim Moshe, Itzik Kala and the Gabatron.

Even outside of the group, several of its members have been sought-after studio musicians over the years, and have participated in the creation of many Israeli classics.

Since parting ways, Zilber and members of the Cypress band have performed together only once, at a closed event in the United States in 2003. Now, after almost 20 years, they are meeting again.

"I feel like I'm in a once-in-a-lifetime reunion," said Zilber, "I don't count the years that have passed since I chose Nagan until the band was formed, which I named the Cypress Band. And since then, they've been making waves for years."

Budgov added: "We have been waiting for this reunion for many years and are trying to bring it about and it is finally happening. All these years we have stayed in touch with each other and we are excited to return to playing together, in the show we will be faithful to the original and reproduce all the sections of the album."
