An armed forty-something wandering around firing shots Thursday in the center of Saint-Quentin (Aisne), was injured during his arrest by the police, the prosecution told AFP.
Witnesses called the police at dawn to report shots fired by a lone man, armed with a shotgun, with no identifiable target according to the first elements.
During the intervention of the police, the man fired in their direction without reaching them, added the prosecution.
The latter fought back, injuring the maniac in the shoulder, who had to be hospitalized urgently and transferred to the hospital in Amiens (Somme).
The man was not known to the police according to initial research by the prosecution.
An investigation is underway to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
