This Wednesday evening, a man was arrested in Portel (Pas-de-Calais) after killing his cat by throwing it against a wall, reports BFMTV.
It was witnesses to the scene who alerted the police, specifies La Voix du Nord, which adds that the man hit the animal against the wall several times.
The alleged perpetrator of the violence, aged 27, according to the local daily, was known to animal protection services for "animal nuisance".

The mayor of Portel explained to the local newspaper that the alleged perpetrator of the violence lived with his mother, who has many cats.
