Fonda revealed that she had been diagnosed with cancer and that she was undergoing chemotherapy treatments.
In a post on Instagram, the 84-year-old actress wrote that she was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and added that it is a cancer that can be treated: "I am lucky to have health insurance and access to the best doctors, unlike many in the US"

Oscar-winning actress Jane Fonda has revealed that she has been diagnosed with cancer and that she is undergoing chemotherapy treatments.
In a post she published on Instagram, the 84-year-old actress wrote that she was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and added that it is a cancer that can be treated: "80 percent of those diagnosed with it survived, so I feel lucky."
"I'm also lucky because I have health insurance and access to the best doctors and treatments," she added.
"I understand, and it pains me, that I have a privilege in this. Almost every family in America who has faced cancer does not have access to quality health care like I receive and it is not fair."
Fonda said that she has been undergoing chemotherapy for six months: "Believe me, I will not let all this interfere with my climate activities. Cancer is a teacher and I pay attention to the lessons it teaches me. One thing it has already shown me is the importance of community - of growing and deepening The community so that we will not be alone. Cancer, along with my age which is almost 85 - definitely teaches the importance of adapting to a new reality."

Jane Fonda began her career in the early sixties.
She won two Academy Awards for Best Actress for her roles in The Telephone Girl and the Detective (1971) and Homecoming (1978).
In addition, she is known for her political and social activities.
