A refusal to comply has serious consequences.
This Sunday morning, after 6 a.m., a driver refusing to stop despite the request of the police and hit several pedestrians who were in front of a stationary vehicle, avenue de Fronton in Toulouse, said the prefecture of Haute -Garonne.
According to the same source, four of them are still in absolute emergency, including two in a very worrying state.
Four other people were transported in relative emergency to clinics in the city, and a lightly injured person was treated on the spot.
25 firefighters were mobilized to the accident.
“Multiple Offenses”
According to the prefecture, the driver had committed “multiple violations of the Highway Code”, in particular burning lights, and was driving at very high speed in town.
Supported by a police patrol following him, he refused to stop.
This is where he hit the pedestrians, hitting two stationary vehicles in the process.
The prefecture specifies that four passengers were in the car of the driver who refused the police check.
According to the same source, the driver of the vehicle was taken into custody in the morning, after receiving treatment.
An investigation was opened to determine the circumstances of the accident and to find out in particular whether the defendant had consumed drugs or alcohol.
She was entrusted to the public prosecutor of Toulouse.
