 A new triumph confirms the happy moment that the Tricolore is experiencing worldwide in the vintage and collector car sector.

The 2022 edition of the British Salon Privé Concours d'Elégance also brought two excellences of Made in Italy to the top steps of the podium.

Victory went to the splendid Zagato-bodied Ferrari 250 GT Tour de France berlinetta, but immediately behind it the jury gathered at the Blenheim Palace crowned the Alfa Romeo 6C 2300B Mille Miglia Cabriolet with Graber bodywork.

Beauty is always signed by the Tricolore


    Owned by David and Ginny Sydorick, the Ferrari 250 GT Tour de France is one of only five long-wheelbase Ferrari 250 GTs designed by Zagato.

Featuring the 0515GT chassis this car was originally built for one of Ferrari's best customers, Vladimiro Galluzzi.

who used it in races during the 1956 season, before selling it to the driver Luigi Taramazzo to be retired from racing at the end of 1958.


    In second place Concours d'Elégance, but also winner in the Open Prewar Class, was placed Alfa Romeo Graber's 1938 6C 2300 B Mille Miglia - owned by Matthias Metz - which is one of only 107 factory-built Mille Miglia models.

The coveted Duke of Marlborough award this year went to another Ferrari, the 1965 365 P with Fantuzzi bodywork, built for racing and which on its first outing at the 1000km Monza, driven by John Surtees and Ludovico Scarfotti, finished in second place overall.


    The Churchill Cup for Most Exceptional Design award went to the 1933 Rolls-Royce Phantom II Continental Sports Coupé by Freestone & Webb, while the audience at the 1907 Lorraine Dietrich 130HP Course. The Chairman's Award went to the 250 Ferrari GTO Scaglietti , and we find another five Maranello 'jewels' in first place in as many category awards (class H, class I and class J as well as most elegant and most iconic).


    Remaining on the subject of Tricolore, also the victory won at the 2022 edition of the Salon Privé Concours d'Elégance by the 1955 Fiat 8V Berlinetta Vignale of 1955 in the E class and that of the 2005 Maserati MC12 in the Q class.
