With the news of the death of Queen Elizabeth II, Queen of England for 70 years and the end of the longest monarchical reign in modern history, the network was naturally flooded with reactions.

First, of course, the front page of the royal family's official website, royal.uk, is painted black with a picture of Elizabeth at her coronation, her years of life (1926-2022) and a quiet message that "The Queen passed away peacefully at Balmoral Castle this afternoon. The King and his Queen consort will remain at Balmoral this evening." And will return to London tomorrow. Thursday, September 8, 2022."

It is also noted on the royal website that it is not available at the moment, due to "requested changes".

Our guess?

They are currently updating all the pages prepared in advance about the new King Charles, and apparently also preparing an obituary for the Queen who has just passed away.

On Twitter, the most polished place on the web, some rather mean comments were made about how the late Princess Diana is waiting for her mother-in-law in the next world, but also beautiful gestures such as the black cabs that filled the avenue leading to Buckingham Palace in London, in a silent tribute to the deceased queen:

London black cabs have lined The Mall leading up to Buckingham Palace to silently pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth II.

The British gamer Julian uploaded four pictures of Elizabeth throughout her life, in the same pose that appears on the royal coins, from her youth to her old age (by the way, now the coins, traditionally, will be replaced with the portrait of Charles, who will face left instead of right, from a strange exchange tradition established in the kingdom over hundreds of years - each king or queen in their portrait on the coins faces the opposite direction to that of their predecessor in office)

Her reign will go down in history forever, rest in peace Queen Elizabeth II?
