He appeared at the bar shortly before 6 p.m. on Wednesday, on the 5th day of hearing in a trial that is shaking up French rugby.
Serge Simon, 55, vice-president of the French Rugby Federation (FFR), is appearing in this case for illegal taking of interests.
A defendant certainly a little less exposed than the two main actors in this case, the president of the FFR Bernard Laporte and the businessman and president of Montpellier Hérault Rugby (MHR) Mohed Altrad, prosecuted for their part for trafficking in influence and corruption.
But Serge Simon is nonetheless one of the central protagonists in the French rugby system since his election to the FFR with Laporte in December 2016. And his hearing has shed light on certain points in this file with drawers.
