He had survived a brutal assassination attempt in 2013. Jean-François Servetto, sentenced in 2016 for criminal association, was killed Wednesday evening at his home in Poghju Mezana, in Haute-Corse.

He was alive when help arrived but succumbed to his chest injury, says France 3. The man died in the ambulance transporting him to Bastia hospital.
Sentenced for criminal association
