On the other hand, according to the NGO Transport & Environnement, if we take into account the low number of passengers they carry (40% fly empty), they pollute ten times more than commercial flights, which themselves are only responsible for 2% of all emissions, compared to 10% for the road.
But there are many more cars.
In other words: the share of aviation in global emissions is low, but reduced to the number of kilometers and passengers it is high.
