He is not surprised.
During a trip to the CIDFF 75 association - which supports serious danger phone discounts - the Keeper of the Seals, Éric Dupond-Moretti, reacted on Tuesday to the announcement of his dismissal on trial for illegal taking of 'interest.
"I said the day before yesterday that the dismissal was not a surprise," he recalled in front of the cameras.
"Never has this indictment hindered my work", assures the Minister of Justice, adding that he derives his legitimacy from the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister, the latter having "reaffirmed yesterday all the confidence that 'she (him) wore'.
Under these conditions, his resignation is “not on the agenda”.
As his lawyers had indicated on Monday, they filed an appeal in cassation.
Éric Dupond-Moretti is accused of having taken advantage of his position to settle accounts with magistrates whom he had opposed when he was a lawyer.
The decision of the Court of Justice of the Republic (CJR) to order a trial against him is a first for a Minister of Justice in office.
