Millas trial: five years' imprisonment required against the bus driver, four of which are suspended

The trial of the collision between a school bus and a train in Millas in the Pyrénées-Orientales in 2017, in which six college students had died, opened in Marseille on Monday September 19.


Five years' imprisonment, four of which were suspended on probation, were required this Wednesday, October 5 in Marseille against the driver of the school bus which collided with a TER at the Millas level crossing (Pyrénées-Orientales) in 2017, causing the death of six children.

Prosecutor Michel Sastre dismissed the "

fatality

" in this accident, while emphasizing the "

exceptional dimension of this tragedy

" in which 17 teenagers were also injured, eight of them seriously.

He also asked for the cancellation of the driver's driving license (tourist and passenger transport) and his prohibition to retake them for five years.
