He had struck her a violent punch, which had broken her jaw.
Former Senegalese international pivot from Roanne, Boubacar Touré, was given a 10-month suspended prison sentence on Tuesday by the Roanne criminal court (Haute-Loire) for fracturing the jaw of an opponent from the Boulogne-Levallois club.
The player, who was transferred this summer to Bursa (Turkey), had punched the Bosnian international of the Metropolitans 92, Miralem Halilovic, on January 31, 2021, causing him to break his jaw.
He had been suspended for ten games by the National Basketball League, while the Bosnian player had remained away from the courts for seven months following this gesture.
Boubacar Touré had also filed a complaint, and accused his opponent of having touched his private parts, which had caused his reaction.
He was however absent from the hearing and was not represented by a lawyer either, underlines the newspaper Le Progrès.
Miralem Halilovic, on the other hand, testified on the stand.
Roanne prosecutor Abdelkrim Grini said he requested a 9-month suspended sentence and a 2,500 euro fine.
The court finally pronounced a slightly heavier sentence: 10 months in prison suspended for 2,500 euros fine.
The former Senegalese international will also have to pay the sum of 39,804 euros to the Metropolitans club, for the damage caused by the player's unavailability.
