The results of the crash tests conducted for 10 models by the Euro NCAP organization were published a short time ago, when the most attention was captured by the new electric model of the Chinese BYD, the Hato 3, which recently began to be sold in Israel, for which we conducted a first test in Israel and which receives very keen interest.

In addition to it, the Mercedes EQE, BMW Series 2 Active Tourer and X1, Mazda CX-60, the manufacturer's large crossover, the sisters Seat Ibiza and Arona and Volkswagen Golf were also tested.

The Citroen C5 X only gets four stars, as does the Chinese Mobilize Limo.

As mentioned, the most intriguing model in the current round of tests was BYD's Hato 3, like two other Chinese manufacturers that participated in the previous tests, the ORA Funky Cat and the WEY Coffee 01, which also received 5 stars in the crash tests, we may see here a change in trend and a "alignment" in the field of safety with the European manufacturers.

The scores in detail are 91% in the protection of adults, 89% in the protection of children, 69% in the protection of pedestrians and 74% for the assistance systems.

Two other cars built in China that took part in the test did not show high results when it slowed down, they were the Citroen C5 X jointly produced with Dongfeng and the Mobilize electric sedan built jointly by Renault and Jiangling.

The gap in the results was in the area of missing safety equipment and imperfect performance in the physical crash tests.

The other European participants and one Japanese representative all recorded 5-star results and high scores.

The surprising ones were the pair Seat Ibiza and Aruna, two not new models that underwent a refresh in the last year and were therefore retested with improved safety equipment and against new test standards.

Both received 5 stars.

It was the same story with the BMW X1 and the Series 2 Active Tourer.

BMW's crossover and minivan were also renewed this year and they also continue to maintain the maximum score.

Mercedes' EQE sedan-electric also earned, not surprisingly, very good scores in the crash test, with express praise for its advanced safety systems.

Michel van Ratingen, Secretary General of the organization, noted that "fully autonomous driving is still far from us, but its foundations are guided by robust and capable driving assistance systems like that of Mercedes.

Congratulations

on receiving the very good score and receiving a 5-star score for the fourth time this year."

, driver fatigue warning, central airbag and other extras that leave it with a 5-star rating even against the higher standards.

The Japanese representative in the current tests was the Mazda XC-60, this is a large crossover with which the Japanese hope to be able to set foot for the first time among the luxury brands, or at least the semi-luxury - a journey it has been on for several years.

The tested version is with the 2.5 liter plug-in engine with which Mazda enters the European market.

With scores of 88% for adult protection, 91% for children, 89% for pedestrian protection and 76% for assistance systems, it also comes home with the full 5-star score in the crash test.

The XC-60 is expected to arrive in Israel in 2023.
