So far, PlayStation players interested in virtual reality (VR) have had to make do with Sony's VR debut from 2016.

In the meantime, however, a lot has happened in the field of virtual worlds.
And Sony itself has added a significantly more powerful game console with the Playstation 5.
With Playstation VR 2, she now gets her own VR system.
As the Japanese company announced on Wednesday, it will officially be on the market on February 22, 2023 - for 599.99 euros.
Sonys will be accepting pre-orders from November 15th.

A bundle with the VR game "Horizon Call of the Mountain" is also offered for around 650 euros.
An optional charging station for the controller costs 50 euros.
At 600 euros, the VR system now costs more than Sony's console.
In addition to the glasses, you get two hand controllers and stereo headphones for the price.
The new VR headset uses an OLED display with 2000 x 2040 pixels per eye and up to 120 Hz, all with a field of view of around 110 degrees.
It can vibrate on its head and use eye tracking to detect eye movements.
The completely renewed hand controllers meanwhile offer adaptive triggers and haptic feedback.
Meta currently dominates the market
Playstation VR 2 is connected to the console via a USB-C cable, which somewhat restricts the wearer's freedom of movement.
In contrast to the previous model, this time you can play in all directions.
Tracking works via four cameras built into the front of the headset.
A camera is no longer required for the console.
Sony has not yet given any detailed information on how many and which games will be available by the end of February.
Like the Playstation 5, the new system comes in a black and white look.

The current market leader in the field of VR headsets is the Facebook group Meta.
Its most popular pair of glasses, the wireless Quest 2, which works independently of a PC or console, costs €450 or €550 depending on storage space.
With the Quest Pro, Meta recently introduced a new professional version of its VR glasses for 1800 euros.
In Germany, however, both products are not on the market.
