There is an unexpected change at the car manufacturer Audi.
With EBM-Papst, the supplier for fans and blowers will be lost in the future.
Just a few days ago, Audi board member Hildegard Wortmann made critical statements about the future of the automaker, as
echo24.de
reported.
Appropriately, Audi also jumps off a supplier for important parts.
When asked by our editors, the company commented on this.
The world market leader in fans, EBM-Papst from Mulfingen near Heilbronn in Baden-Württemberg, decided a few weeks ago to withdraw from the automotive industry.
According to the Handelsblatt
, with this drastic step the company
even foregoes ten percent of its sales.
But what are the consequences of the withdrawal for Audi and its production?
End of the supply for Audi: EBM-Papst feels underchallenged
The new CEO at EBM-Papst, Klaus Geißdörfer, has pushed the step away from the car and thus also away from Audi.
In the
Handelsblatt
report, he makes it clear why his company decided to do this: "The desired quality is only a limited challenge for us technologically and is not attractive for us as a supplier at the prices asked."

Geißdörfer: “We see huge potential over the next ten years in the megatrends of renewable energies, data centers and air conditioning.
The world is getting warmer.”

But how fast is with fans and blowers from EBM-Papst for Audi?
When asked by echo24.de, the car manufacturer's reaction was cautious.
You can "confirm that Audi is one of EBM-Papst's customers" and that you have taken note of the communicated change of strategy.
EBM Pope
EBM-Papst is a manufacturer of electric motors and fans.
According to its own description, the company offers ventilation connections and thus the perfect interaction of engine technology, electronics and flow technology.
These three core competencies are directly related to each other in the products.
EBM-Papst's goal is always to use air and movement with maximum efficiency - regardless of whether in a confined space, in large dimensions or under extreme environmental conditions.
With regard to possible problems for Audi due to the loss of the supplier, it goes on to say: "We conclude long-term agreements with our supply partners for the duration of our models and expect that EBM-Papst will continue to fulfill its contractual obligations."
