Good news: the embarrassing days of opening weird WhatsApp groups, adding contacts and immediately kicking them out just so you're left alone and can send messages to yourself - are over.
In a welcome step (although some would say a few years too late), WhatsApp announced the launch of the Messaging Yourself feature, which will allow users to send private messages to themselves.
Why is it good?
For reminders (in text or recording), for documenting ideas, for editing lists and for saving texts, images and private files that will be available for quick retrieval, such as work arrangements for example.
Also, this is a very efficient way to transfer files to yourself from one device to another - from a phone to a computer, for example - and of course the self chats are completely encrypted, just like the normal chats.

So how do you send yourself messages?
Easily: log into WhatsApp, create a new chat and notice that your "contact" appears at the top of the list.
Choose it, start chatting solo, and the world suddenly becomes much more efficient and comfortable.
The new feature will be gradually available starting in the coming weeks for Android and iOS users, also in Israel (for some it is already available. We tried it ourselves, also on WhatsApp Web).
However, you need to make sure that the WhatsApp version you have installed is the newest.
Therefore, if you still don't find yourself in your contact list - go to the app store, update WhatsApp and reactivate it.
Or wait a week or two.
Thank us - and yourself - later.
