Dozens of people arrived last night (Wednesday) at the Al Saraya theater in Jaffa to watch the screening of the controversial film "Fareha".

In the film by director Darin G. Salam, according to reports, IDF soldiers are shown murdering a Palestinian family during the War of Independence. As a result, the Minister of Culture called on Hili Troper to deny the budget of the theater that receives support from the state, and in response Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman announced that he instructed his staff to do Yes.

Mahmoud Abu Arisha, CEO of Al Saraya Theater, said before the screening: "Our response to incitement and distortion is to allow the screening of the film on time and on schedule. As a cultural institution, we are committed to protecting the freedom of art, any art whatsoever."

The Jordanian film "Fareha" was released on Netflix today.

It takes place in 1948 in Palestine and is about a 14-year-old Palestinian girl whose father locks her in a warehouse to protect her from IDF attacks in the village. The film reportedly includes, among other things, a scene in which IDF soldiers execute a family with a baby.

"Fareha" was also chosen to represent Jordan at the Oscars this year.

"The decision of a supported theater in Israel to screen a film that, according to reports, includes false plots against IDF soldiers and describes the slaughter of a family while comparing it to the behavior of the Nazis in the Holocaust, is particularly outrageous," Trooper said last night. "The fact that an Israeli theater gives a platform to lies and plots is a disgrace.

I call on the theater management to retract the decision to screen this film.

Also, I appeal to Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman, in whose hands the authority rests, to examine the issue of the budgeting of this institution, in light of his choice to screen this film."

Following these comments, Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman directed the professional level to act to deny the budget for the theater.

"It is strange to me that Netflix has chosen to release a film whose entire purpose is to produce an inciting misrepresentation against IDF soldiers, but the choice of a cultural institution funded by the State of Israel to screen the above-mentioned film is already an unacceptable decision that requires all measures to be taken The possible ones, including the denial of budgets from that institution and this with the aim of possibly preventing the screening of the aforementioned shocking film or similar films in the future.

The State of Israel is a place to present Israeli and international works, but certainly not a place to discredit the soldiers of the IDF and the security forces who work day and night to protect and protect all the citizens and residents who live there."
