Earlier this week, Elon Musk struck wild tones to Apple. Now the Twitter boss was a guest in Cupertino and verbally switched down a gear. He also made a short tourist video.

Twitter boss Elon Musk has rowed back after his verbal attacks on the US technology group Apple.

During a visit to Apple, Musk said he had a "good conversation" with CEO Tim Cook on Twitter.

"The misunderstanding" about an alleged removal of the Twitter app from Apple's App Store was cleared up.

"Tim made it clear that Apple never considered it." Musk also thanked Cook for a tour of his "beautiful headquarters," which he documented in a five-second video.

Apple did not comment on the meeting when asked by the AFP news agency.

At the beginning of the week, US multi-billionaire Apple publicly declared “war”.

"Apple has threatened to remove Twitter from its app store, but they refuse to tell us why," Musk wrote, asking the iPhone maker if it "hates freedom of speech in America."

Musk also posted a meme of a car taking the "go to war" exit instead of staying in the "pay 30 percent" lane, in a nod to Apple's App Store fees.

The posting with the meme has since been deleted.

Twitter wants to sell so-called Blue subscriptions to its users again soon, but their sale has currently been stopped.

When users conclude such offers via Twitter's iOS app, Apple also earns a share.

The »shortest tech war«

The well-known US attorney Bradley P. Moss commented on the meeting between Musk and Cook on Twitter, saying that the head of the short message service had "blown up a rumor" and now admits "that it was nonsense from the start".

Meanwhile, Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman spoke of the “shortest tech war” he can remember.

»I wonder who shook hands with whom and how long the peace treaty is valid.«

Meanwhile, analyst Neil Cybart appeared amused.

“One can't help but laugh that one day Musk claims he's going to war with Apple over the App Store,” he wrote, “and two days later he's using his iPhone to shoot tourist videos of Apple Park with Tim Cook as my personal tour guide."
