Technology keeps advancing.

However, it will probably take a while before the technology is really ready.
Some models can at least park independently, even if this does not always work without accidents.
Ford also has a system on offer that is supposed to take over the parking process.
A man from the USA wanted to demonstrate how well this works.
However, the attempt backfired in the truest sense of the word, as a video by TikTok user fk7.jae shows.
The Ford driver's attempt to use the parking aid to get into the gap failed miserably.

In it you can see how the Ford driver leaves the parking to the "Active Park Assist".
Apparently he trusts the system so much that he can no longer intervene in time.
Although the driving assistant parks the truck, it also hits the car behind.

The accident cannot be seen in the video, but you can hear a loud bang and a woman who suddenly screams.
Immediately before the impact, the driver can also be heard saying: "You're going too fast." However, he is unfazed by the accident and takes control of the car again.
Then he moves forward a bit.

How it goes on after that can no longer be seen in the ten-second video.
One can hope, however, that he took responsibility and reported the accident to the local police.
Otherwise the video would hardly have ended up on TikTok.
