The post that caused a stir (photo: screenshot)

Will an innocent post that appeared in the Israeli Facebook group "growing up and living in the 80s/90s" become a key piece of evidence in a murder case?

A member of the group shared with the followers an old phone that was found buried under a pecan tree at the agricultural farm in Rehovot during tillage for planting vegetables.

The device, which was launched in 1998, is a Motorola i390 model, and in the photo attached to the post it appears that the battery has been separated from the back of the device according to Shantman Badama.

As you can probably imagine, the wisdom of the masses has led to a number of hypotheses and unfounded answers such as "the separation of the battery is intended so that they will not be able to locate the location of the device", or that "there is a situation behind this that has not been deciphered".

Another response is that "this is some kind of evidence of a murder or an unexplained disappearance that happened a few years ago. Due to the pressure, they decided to bury the phone deep in the ground."

After it became viral,

the author of the post updated that the device was handed over to the police

The device, if you were wondering, includes a memory of 20 megabytes, a direct connection to the radio, a tray lock button, voicemail access, caller ID and speed dialing.

In January 2011, Motorola was split into two separate companies, 'Motorola Mobility' and 'Motorola Solutions', and in 2011 it was acquired by Google for $12.5 billion.

At the end of January 2014, Google announced the sale of Motorola Mobility to the Chinese Lenovo.
