And which now, starting from mid-2023 when it will be introduced in Europe, has become one of the most interesting models in the global 'green' panorama, with emissions of 19 grams of CO2 per km.

The new fifth-generation hybrid system reaches its maximum evolution in the plug-in Prius, providing more power and greater efficiency.

The 2.0-litre TNGA internal combustion engine produces 152hp and combines with a new 120kW (163hp) front electric unit for a total system power of 223hp (164kW).

Compared to the first Prius Plug-in, introduced in 2012, which had 136 HP, the increase in efficiency is evident and makes it possible to guarantee lively and available acceleration at all engine speeds.

With the aim of allowing the majority of daily journeys in EV mode, the new Prius plug-in now offers an electric range of 69 kilometers thanks to an unprecedented 13.6 kWh lithium-ion battery.

The higher energy density cells allow for optimized packaging of the battery pack, which is compact enough to fit under the rear seats, lowering the center of gravity.

In the pursuit of maximum efficiency, Prius plug-in can be ordered with an optional solar cell roof, a solution that can generate 8 kilometers of additional EV range every day or fully charge the battery if the car is parked for several days.

All this makes the Prius truly a car with double DNA: an EV range high enough to allow daily driving completely electric on most journeys, combined with the flexibility and practicality of an extremely efficient hybrid to tackle long journeys without stress. distances.

The new plug-in Prius strengthens Toyota's multi-technology range, which also includes battery electric (BEV) and fuel cell electric (FCEV) solutions, offering greater efficiency and mobility with reduced emissions within everyone's reach.

In the new edition, the Prius style reaches new levels of dynamism thanks to a silhouette reminiscent of a coupe, which immediately catches the eye and evokes a strong emotional response.

It is built on the second generation GA-C platform of Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA), with reduced weight and higher rigidity.

The iconic wedge shape, a hallmark of Prius since the second generation, has evolved, adopting elegant and modern lines.

The flowing and elegant silhouette has been achieved by lowering the overall height by 50mm, moving the peak of the roof rearwards and using larger diameter tires up to 19 inches.

The overall design is simple and clean, inspired as it is by the natural flow of air.

From the front, the shape defined as 'hammerhead' stands out due to the design that elegantly integrates lights.

Among the novelties the wheelbase is 50 mm longer than the previous generation while the overall length has been reduced by 46 mm.

With a width greater than 22 mm compared to the previous one, the footprint of the Prius emphasizes the values of dynamism and safety.

The rear view is accentuated by a three-dimensional linear lighting element that underlines the futuristic design and focuses attention on the Prius logo.

Using the new 'Island Architecture' structure, the cabin combines spaciousness, driving fun and emotionality, for a linear and airy interior.

The driver module is based on the seven-inch TFT LCD screen which is placed directly in the driver's field of vision, improving safety as the driver can keep their eyes on the road.

The newly designed dashboard favors comfort in the passenger compartment, featuring a clean layout with minimal intrusion into the driver's field of vision, favoring usability and visual impact.

It combines a discreet, lower central screen and a compact dashboard for air conditioning controls, while the dashboard lighting is linked to Toyota Safety Sense notifications, which send warnings through color changes.
