The return of queues in front of certain screening centers (laboratories or pharmacies) in Nantes gave an overview of the current situation: the Covid-19 epidemic is on the rise again in the department.
The Pays de la Loire Regional Health Agency (ARS) has just put figures on this upsurge.
Here is what it gives: on December 1, the incidence rate is 424 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and the positivity rate is 34.2% in Loire-Atlantique.
At the regional level, the dynamics are similar.
In the space of three weeks - between November 9 and December 1 -
"the incidence rate in the general population has increased by more than 70%"
in Pays de la Loire, notes the ARS in a press release.
In people over the age of 65, this increase is less marked.
It stands at 28%.
“The Covid epidemic is recording a clear rebound, with a significant impact on hospitalizations”
, summarizes the ARS.
As of November 30, 440 people were hospitalized in the region due to Covid (+11% in one week), including 30 in intensive care.
Call for vigilance
“This resurgence of hospitalizations is part of a particularly tense hospital context (epidemic of bronchiolitis, tensions on human resources, etc.) which requires increased vigilance and caution as the end-of-year celebrations approach”
