Fuel prices in Germany continue to fall.
Super E10 is almost as cheap as mid-August.
Diesel already costs less than with a tank discount.
There is still criticism from the ADAC.
Inflation is currently making life in Germany noticeably more expensive.
In many areas, costs have risen significantly in 2022, but there are also exceptions to the rule: fuel prices have been falling for weeks.
However, the fall in prices has weakened significantly.
This is the result of a new evaluation by the ADAC.
On average nationwide, a liter of Super E10 cost 1.729 euros, one cent less than in the previous week.
Diesel was also a cent cheaper and cost 1.833 euros.

Fuel prices continue to fall: Super almost as cheap as in mid-August
This puts petrol back at the price level it was in mid-August, when the tax burden was significantly reduced thanks to the fuel discount.
"Diesel costs even less than during the entire period of the tank discount (June to August)," explains the ADAC on its website.

One reason for the fall in prices is a noticeable relaxation on the crude oil market.
A barrel of Brent crude cost around $85 a week ago, climbing to $87 in the meantime before falling to just under $80.
The oil price despite the upcoming EU oil embargo against Russia and the reduced output of OPEC+.
And the euro, which is strong compared to the US dollar, is also causing the prices for diesel and petrol to fall.
Fuel prices continue to fall: diesel is still far too expensive
Despite the positive development of fuel prices in Germany, the ADAC is still not satisfied.
According to the Automobile Club, drivers still pay too much at gas stations: "Diesel in particular is still extremely expensive." Despite the fact that the tax burden is over 20 cents lower, the fuel still costs around ten cents more than Super E10.

However, it is unclear whether the price decline that has lasted for seven weeks will continue.
Nevertheless, motorists can still save: ADAC emphasizes that the first filling station does not always have to be the cheapest.
It is therefore advisable to compare fuel prices beforehand using an app.
The automobile club also recommends that drivers of petrol engines use Super E10 instead of the more expensive E5 fuel – if this is possible.
A look at the clock can also help, because there is a lot of potential for savings here.
Diesel and petrol cost the most in the morning hours.
However, it is cheapest in the evening between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. and between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m.
