Dyson announces the start of sales of Dyson Zone headphones.
Designed to address the dual challenge of noise pollution and air pollution, the headphones come as a result of Dyson's 30 years of expertise in motor, filtration and airflow technologies and a deep understanding of indoor and outdoor air quality.
The headphones are powered by advanced lithium-ion batteries and USB-C charging, the Dyson Zone and will provide users with clean and filtered air, audio with extremely low sound distortion (distortion), advanced noise cancellation and full audio spectrum audio reproduction.
The compressors in each earcup draw air through the dual-layer filters and project two streams of filtered air into the nose and mouth, which are channeled through the removable face cover and electrostatic filters filter out 99% of particulate pollution down to 0.1 microns, while K-Carbon potassium-enriched carbon filters filter out acid gases Commonly associated with urban pollution, including NO2 and SO2.
The Dyson Zone has 11 microphones and the ANC system uses eight of them to reduce city noise up to 38 decibels.
In addition, a dual microphone and noise suppression enable clear voice calls, voice recording and voice control.
The speaker, electronics, mechanical system, materials and acoustics have been carefully designed to minimize distortion across the entire frequency range and a unique EQ setting optimizes the frequency curve for clear sound throughout the audible frequency range.
According to the company, the headphones offer 50 hours of continuous listening of audio only, or 4 hours of air filtration and continuous audio together.
The device reaches 100% charge in 3 hours.
The Dyson Zone provides information about the user's environment through the MyDyson app, in order to provide healthier habits: an accelerometer monitors the user's activity and adjusts the filtered air flow.
The MyDyson app can be used to adjust airflow speed and noise cancellation mode, as well as the audio to one of three modes: Dyson EQ (enhanced), Bass Boost (bassy) and Neutral (flatter response curve).
Dyson says that "as with all Dyson devices, Dyson Zone headphones have been tested to the limit in temperature-controlled cells, drop tests, material wear tests, and more. In addition, as part of the tests, we tested the device in geographical areas with a hot climate and high humidity, in addition to tests in the United Kingdom. User tests Held in the USA, UK, China and Singapore".
