Christmas is getting closer.
However, due to the high fuel prices, drivers should save themselves a visit to the gas station over the festive period and refuel better beforehand or a few days later.
Every year the Christ child comes and with it the Christmas holidays.
For the vast majority of Germans, there is also a visit to the family.
In the run-up, however, there is not only the question of the right gifts for loved ones, but also when it is best to fill up the car.
It is a well-known fact that fuel prices always rise in time for the holidays.
Accordingly, it is not a good idea to go to the gas station on Christmas Eve or the holidays.
Gifts are only given under the Christmas tree and not at the pump.

Fuel prices at Christmas: Motorists should refuel before or after the holidays
"My tip is, at best, not to fill up at all at Christmas, but well before and then again towards the end of the holidays," said Steffen Bock, founder and managing director of the consumer information service Clever Tanken to

It is best to fill up the tank early and to benefit from the currently (still) falling fuel prices.
The prices for diesel and petrol are currently back at the level of the tank discount.
Fuel prices at Christmas: Numerous price fluctuations per day
In the days leading up to Christmas at the latest, fuel prices for diesel and petrol are likely to rise again.
If you still have to fill up, the same rules apply as usual.
"Of course, the usual daily fluctuations also apply during this time," explains Bock.
Sometimes there are even up to six price peaks per day.

“Sometimes there are differences of up to 15 cents per day at one and the same gas station.
If you compare all the gas stations in a city, you can save up to 22 cents within 24 hours,” emphasizes the Clever-Tanken boss.
It is usually best in the evening hours.
According to Bock, there are also good windows between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to refuel cheaply.
The trip to a regional chain can sometimes be worthwhile.
However, it is best to compare the current prices using an app before driving to the gas station.
