Nearly fifty people close to the ultra-right, who were preparing to join the Champs-Élysées in Paris after the semi-final of the World Cup won by France against Morocco, were arrested in the evening. of Wednesday, in particular for carrying prohibited weapons.
A total of 47 people were arrested, including 15 S files, before being placed in police custody, a police source told Le Parisien.

This group was arrested at "Jean Bart", a café in the 17th arrondissement of the capital during a check for "gathering with a view to committing violence" and carrying prohibited weapons.
Several of these members were known to the police for their membership of movements close to the ultra-right, such as the Gud or Generation Identity.
Among these arrests is Marc de Cacqueray-Valmenier, leader of the officially dissolved extreme right-wing group, “les Zouaves Paris”.
"They clearly wanted to do battle on the Champs," added a police source.

These arrests were made possible thanks to the control and prevention system set up around the Champs-Elysées.
Some 2,200 police and gendarmes were mobilized in Paris on Wednesday evening to oversee the festivities following the France-Morocco match won (2-0) by the Blues.
In total, 167 arrests took place in the Paris area, including 145 in Paris, after this semi-final of the World Cup, said the police headquarters.
