Suspected of having stolen cocaine from the seals of the Paris judicial police, a 60-year-old police captain and a 47-year-old brigadier were indicted on Thursday evening in Paris for "violation of the narcotics legislation, embezzlement of seals and false writing”.
This last qualification is the heaviest because for police officers, it is liable to the Assize Court.
The officer was imprisoned pending his deferred hearing before the judge of freedoms.
As for his subordinate, he was placed in pre-trial detention at the Fleury-Mérogis remand center (Essonne).
The two men were taken into custody on Monday at the premises of the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN) as revealed by RTL.
These two officials were assigned to the narcotics brigade of the regional directorate of the Paris judicial police and specifically to the night.
The investigations began in August under the direction of an investigating judge from Paris.
The pot of roses had been discovered by their hierarchy during a replacement of samples intended to analyze the dosage of a few kilos of cocaine which were under seal.
"It turned out that instead of 80% cocaine, this white powder was mainly made up of plaster," says a source familiar with the matter.
A loss that is not insignificant because a kilo of "cc" is worth around 30,000 euros at the price of semi-wholesale in Île-de-France.
"They are the ones who made the seals, that's enough"
What are the charges against these two officials?
No technical element and no direct testimony were found by the investigators.
“As they are the ones who made the seals, it is enough and it is an almost unstoppable element”, underlines a source close to the case.
The captain was due to retire soon.
He has just become a father and shares his life with a young colleague.
In the ranks of the police, he had rather bad press.
“At his age, he remained a captain to keep his closeness to the thugs at night, slips an officer who does not carry him in his heart.
The brigadier was probably under his influence.
But that's not a reason because when you're a policeman, you have to be honest.

During their hearings, the two men denied any involvement in the disappearance of the drug before remaining silent.
Their lawyers, met Thursday evening in the halls of the courthouse, did not wish to comment on this case.
