Doreen Atias, former presenter of the well-known fashion review section of the program "Arab Tov with Guy Pines", who was identified with the program for two decades, filed a lawsuit on Thursday with the Tel Aviv Regional Labor Court for a sum of 473 thousand NIS against the production companies of the program, "Pines Giladi Communications" and "Faymgame Communications". Atias claims that as an employee of the program she was denied rights due to the requirement to produce PINS for work on invoices. She claims that she was fired in the midst of the Corona crisis, in April 2021, "without prior notice, without a proper hearing procedure and without being paid her rights, this after about 18 years in which Atias carried out her work with dedication," and claims that she was denied rights, including severance pay, pension deposits, monetary and non-monetary damages also against the background of the Corona period.

In early 2003, 48-year-old Atias began presenting a fashion review section on the show "Arab Tov with Guy Pines", and the "dragons" rating she created became associated with the show.

The lawsuit, filed by attorney Vared Kiner from the Arna Lin & Co. law firm, states that Pines' production companies "decided to take advantage of Atias' dream of becoming an influential figure in the world of fashion, and their ability and power to fulfill that dream, in order to deny her her rights Shabdin

They acted in improper ways, in bad faith, cleverly and knowingly in order to evade their obligations according to the labor laws, as if the television industry was the 'wild west', and as if the labor laws did not concern them.

In doing so, Matias deprived her of her rights according to law, and caused her pecuniary and non-pecuniary damages, and even more so, in the presence and during the Corona period."

Atias claims that "the themes of the corner were prepared based on the preferences of the raw materials provided by the Pines companies, as well as the 'cut limits', including the imposition of a veto on reference to programs broadcast on competing channels or key figures in the fashion world, sometimes for non-professional considerations, such as in relation to the factors they had A personal conflict with Mr. Pines."

Atias claims that as part of her work in Pines production, she "is broadly and comprehensively prohibited from engaging in her field of activity (presenting fashion segments and programs, fashion reviews, etc.) in other media (for example, the competing channel Reshet, and even in other non-digital media such as the written press)", and claimed that she "did not receive any special compensation due to the blanket ban on engaging in her field of activity." In addition, in the lawsuit, Atias states that Pines' production companies "allowed other presenters in the program, who contracted with Pines companies as service providers, to engage regularly in their field of activity with competing media outlets."

However, Atias states in the lawsuit that "sometimes, and only after receiving prior approval from Mr. Pines, Atias was allowed to perform other, spot-on and time-related roles in its field of activity. Thus, for example, Atias was given permission by Mr. Pines to direct the 'Fashion Week' events in April 2021 , when he emphasizes to her that if it weren't for the Corona period, because of which there wasn't much work, he wouldn't have authorized her to lead the event."

Atias claims that during the Corona period, due to a small number of high-profile events, the number of corners she served decreased significantly.

According to her, "Between March 2020 and April 2021 Atias submitted few corners, and in April 2021 they stopped completely at the initiative of Pines' production companies."

According to her, the reduction of her corners "tangibly damaged her income and her ability to support her family, especially in light of the Corona crisis".

Atias also claims that in the Pines production "they were indifferent to her condition and did not lift a finger in an attempt to reduce her damage".

In addition, she claims that because she was allegedly misclassified by Pines Production as an independent contractor, she was denied the opportunity to go out on a contract.

The Guy Pines system responded: "We are saddened both as a system and especially as human beings that Doreen Atias is spitting fiercely at a well from which she has been drinking and drinking for years. The truth is that Doreen Atias ended her work on our program on her own initiative after she accepted another job offer that tempted her at the competing Channel 13, and despite countless Attempts to convince her to stay with us, and worse - while she hides and denies with a tract of lies the contacts with her from anyone who thought they were her friends. But what? When she found herself unemployed even at the competitor's channel a few weeks later, she apparently chose a new livelihood option - to claim compensation from us for working relationships That she herself chose not to manage with us all these years - being independent and owning a business in the field of fashion which she managed at the same time during that entire period. Her claim has no legal basis, more than that will become clear in court, under the section: good coercion."
