Apple 1 computer sold at auction (photo: MacRumors)
A partially restored Apple 1 computer sold for $440,000 at auction this month - $65,000 more than the estimated price, reports MacRumors.
This is one of a few dozen Apple-1 computers left, and it contains almost all the original components, including a handwritten signature of Steve Jobs.
This is one of the last computers assembled by hand in the garage of the Jobs family in 1976 or 1977, before Apple went into mass production.
The Apple-1 was the first computer created by Wozniak and Jobs when they founded the computer company "Apple", and now only a few computers remain of the 200 computers they originally created (between 60 and 70 units according to the report).
The computers in question arrived without a graphic monitor and the other accepted accessories, since the computer was intended for the purposes of writing codes only.
The auxiliary equipment was purchased separately but in this case the buyer was provided by the previous owner with the original screen and keyboard bought at the same time.

An Apple 1 computer from the first series was put up for sale in May, fetching more than $460,000, and in November of last year, an Apple 1 in its original wooden case sold for half a million dollars, with rarer computers fetching even higher sums.
