Is there life on the moon?

A number of astronauts have expressed concern about the upcoming human visit to the moon after recalling the report of the last visitor there - the commander of the Apollo 17 mission, Eugene Cernan, who said that he was exposed to "strange bright flashes" that may indicate signs of life.

NASA expected the next generation of astronauts to rise to the challenge of flying to the moon, but the last person to do so warned of eerie sightings during his visit. Cernan claimed to have seen "bright flashes" that "whirled around" while he and two other astronauts, Jack Schmitt and Ronald Evans, celebrated their fourth day on the moon 50 years ago in 1972.

Despite the ominous and inexplicable sighting, NASA is returning to the moon in the Artemis mission and they are doing so with full knowledge of what happened to the last astronauts who walked there and told of "bright flashes" that were observed moving in a "rhythmic" manner.

The immediate suspicion that these bright flashes are merely an engine light Rejected by astronaut Schmitt Flight logs revealed Cernan's exact words, where the astronaut was heard saying: “I don't know.

They are similar in intensity and quite constant - in intensity, in the bright and dim flashes that appear from them - and they are very separated."

The astronauts could not determine what the bright flashes were - they were later accompanied by dim flashes.

But those who hope that this is a life form will be disappointed to find that the chance of such a thing happening is slim.

Experts believe Cernan spotted part of the S-IVB module, a discarded piece of rocket that may have reflected sunlight and caused the flashes.
